Here at Onyx, we're all about giving back to the community. We're proud sponsors of several local sports teams to help boost health, fitness and support teams to get ahead.

Since Onyx launched in 2020, we have been keen to stay involved with our local community and provide financial support where possible. Many of our greatest sportspeople started in grassroots and smaller clubs, so being a part of these potentially life-changing teams is humbling.

We've rounded up our current sponsorships to give you an update on who they are and their progress in their fields.

Southampton Women’s Football Club

Our most recent sponsorship offering went to the Southampton Women’s FC; The Sirens.

Established in 1970, Southampton Women’s FC is the oldest and arguably the most successful women’s football club in Southampton – winning the Women’s FA Cup eight times between 1971 and 1982.

More recently Jamie Lloyd Davies has been named manager of the team and a huge backing from its sponsors and a partnership with Solent University have enabled them to secure a new home ground – Test Park Sports Ground.

Fixtures

The team has a jam-packed schedule this season - with some matches already behind them, and many more ahead. October will see some big pressure for the team with a league cup match on the 1st and FA Cup on the 22nd.

Regarding sponsorship, Southampton Women’s FC Vice Chairman, Leon Burton said: “Our sponsors make a difference to the club by not only supporting essential funding for travel, clubwear and maintenance, it also sends a message that we are a dedicated club, but we are also recognised for our abilities, and we have support from many local and regional organisations who believe in what we do”.

Burridge Cricket Club

In May 2023 Onyx became sponsors of Burridge Cricket Club, and the official sponsor of their new training nets – recently “opened” by former England Captain Charlotte Edwards as shown below.

Known as one of Hampshire’s most respected cricket clubs, Burridge CC has been providing fine facilities for men's, ladies', and Colts' cricket since 1968. The grounds and clubhouse can be found on the banks of the River Hamble at Botley Road, Burridge.

Making headlines

The club recently made headlines for routing defending champions St Cross and claiming their first ever Southern Premier League Title. For Burridge, it was the first part of a potential league and cup double – they face Alton in the SPL T20 Cup final at South Wiltshire later this month.

Whiteley Wanderers U8s Braves

Onyx are proud sponsor of the local Whiteley Wanderers under 8s football team, led by manager Richard Emblen. Whiteley Wanderers Football Club was founded in 1998 with just one youth team and has expanded with 32 teams and over 400 players across mini teams, youth, adult and girls teams – all playing across 6 different leagues.

The Braves have been doing very well and are ready to continue through another successful season. Recently they had some great matches, including against the likes of AFC Portchester. They also entered the Project Samba Futsal Comp at Cams school – a fantastic local tournament run by Peter Sanderson and his team.

Team Manager, Richard said: “The Braves have now entered into their second season in the Eastleigh District Youth League. Consistency has seen them achieve another year in the top league within Red 1 going into the U8s. The boys have maintained their development across the summer, opting to continue their training and games.”

“A busy summer filled with a mixture of tournaments, training, and friendlies saw them walk away with the winner's trophy at one event and multiple runner-up awards, but this isn't about results this is purely about progression and the development of the boys. This works hand in hand with our sponsorship partners at Onyx, who support the boys' journey all the way. Without them, we are not complete.”
