Investors in People is delighted to award property and commercial finance company, Onyx, with the ‘We invest in people, standard accreditation’.

About Investors in People

Investors in People has been in operation since 1991. Over the last 30 years they have accredited more than 50k organisations and work in 66 countries.

Investors in People is a community interest company, signifying they put their purpose before profits. This means everything they do and every direction they take is done in line with their slogan that they ‘make work better’.

The Investors in People ethos is a strong belief that the success of your organisation begins and ends with people. They believe that if work is made better for everyone, it makes work better for every organisation. And if they do that, they make society stronger, healthier and happier.

What Onyx does for its people

Onyx only employs the best people for the job and keeping those people is paramount to the business. Onyx staff are appreciated, compensated and rewarded in all aspects of their professional and personal lives.

From day one, staff receive a warm welcome alongside a thorough induction and training process. They will receive daily breakfast, lunch and refreshments as well as a monthly hospitality allowance and free access to the onside gym, haircuts and bar, plus frequent social events.

During the interview phase of the Investors in People assessment, Onyx staff described themselves as “well led” by a “supportive” leadership team. They commented that they “feel respected” and “we celebrate our successes”.

IIP Practitioner, Margaret Faulkner who led the assessment said: “This is a very well-deserved outcome and something the whole team at Onyx Money should be proud of. In less than three years you have developed a thriving business and built a keen and enthusiastic team. Your very flat structure makes it easy for people to gain access to the information they need and your open and transparent processes encourage high levels of engagement.”

A positive outcome

Commenting on the award, Onyx CEO, Dan Richards said: “This couldn’t have come at a better time for Onyx. We’ve just been nominated for a Non-Bank Lender of the Year at the Solent Deals Awards and we’re in talks with interest groups to better support our industry. Investors in People is not only an honoured new string to our ever-growing bow, but we are also humbled to be recognised for staff packages that we believe should come as standard for people who deserve to be rewarded for the upstanding work they do.

Onyx takes pride in its business, but also its staff. After all we couldn’t deliver the high standards, due diligence and quality that we do without them.
