Ways To Add Holiday Spirit To Your Developments

Ways To Add Holiday Spirit To Your Developments

Whether you’re in the process of completing your property development and looking to sell around the festive period or just want to add some holiday spirit while you work, we’ve got some great ideas to keep things seasonal but simple this year.

1. Baby it’s cold outside

Log burner fire

What better way to invite potential buyers into your home than to welcome them with a toastie place to warm up from the outside frost. Let the fire burn for viewings, or even when your colleagues are working if the fixings are in place and safe to do so.

Open fires and log burners have also seen a rise in popularity in recent years, as they are regarded as both a status symbol and an additional form of heating (since utility prices have soared). The installation and use during viewings could certainly add appeal to your property while adding a little winter delight.

2. Catch the gingerbread man

Gingerbread biscuits

Studies show baking bread or brewing coffee are suggested scents that add to a house’s appeal to potential buyers. During the festive season, however, you can add a touch of warmth and go for that sweet familiar gingerbread biscuit smell instead.

Literally bake or try an oil or wax burner or spray fragrance – whatever works. Your colleagues working on the property will certainly thank you if you choose the former and get to taste test too!

3. Deck the halls with boughs of holly

Outside Christmas Decorations

Instead of decking the halls with boughs of holly – which could potentially ruin your newly painted masterpiece, utilise freestanding Christmas decorations on the porch. Not only will this add much-needed curb appeal, but it gives the house a more homely feel. Or if the house isn’t finished it may get your colleagues in the festive spirit each day.

Consider more sophisticated objects rather than giant inflatable Santas. So illuminated reindeer for the lawn, a door wreath that won’t ruin the brand new door, and nutcrackers at the sides.

4. Let it snow

Christmas Lights

While you can’t force the sky to snow, you can give a glistening illusion with a touch of illumination. Go for drop icicles for a truly frosty look or keep it traditional with a line of lights. Either way, you will give the house an instant festive boost of curb appeal and certainly stop potential buyers in their tracks.

5. Rock around the Christmas Tree

Last but by no means least, the iconic Christmas Tree is the perfect option to bring out the festive vibes in a house. It also makes a brilliant centrepiece if you are trying to accentuate an area of the house with high ceilings such as a hallway or open living room. Choose minimalist decorations and stick to a theme such as gold and red and limit the tinsel and ribbons which bulk it out too much.

Happy holidays!
